Editing Excavation Week 1 Part 2

I am documenting us to capture our change over 18 months. I fear it will be like watching paint dry. But I know one day it will become invaluable for us born in the ghetto. The memoirs tell of our oppression. The excavation rebuilt our community. The Reno was our theatre. We were each others entertainer and audience. The Whitworth will show us how to turn that commodity into gold.

Karen: ' You've got to agree on the 8 . . . 8 green stickers . . . you've got to talk to each other.'

Working in pairs, using green stickers, we reduce 72 Karen Rangeley photos to 32.

Eventually these vidoes will begin to accumulate ideas and new ways of thinking. Before your very eyes you will see a book, a film, and an exhibition appear. And us begin to shine like the artists we were always meant to be. Not only will we have slain the oppression in our memoirs, but we will have built a path for others born in the ghetto to walk away from theirs. I believe that with ever fibre in my body. And from the second I decided to dig up the Reno that has aways been my dream.
